Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” A preacher once told the story of a man who was shipwrecked on a deserted island. He built a small hut to provide some shelter from the elements. Every day he hoped and prayed that someone on a passing plane or ship would rescue him. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, but still no rescue. One day he returned from gathering food only to find that his hut had caught fire and burnt to the ground. The little that he had was now gone. All hope seemed lost until the next morning when a ship arrived. The captain said, “We saw your smoke signal.”
When we are going through a difficult time in our life it may be hard to see that God is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28), but just remember that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts ( Isaiah 55:9). If we through faith and obedience will trust him, God can take a seemingly hopeless situation and turn it around for good. Remember Joseph. Read Genesis 50:19-21
