How to Be Saved
Everyone needs to know how to be saved. It’s not hard. It doesn’t take rocket science. It’s basically as simple as ABC. There is no person so “bad” that Jesus Christ can not forgive and change. Salvation is free to everyone and anyone who will simply accept this gift.
A – Admit
Admit to God that you are a sinner and realize that you need a Savior. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). The result of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). Spiritual death means separation from God. There is only one who has lived a sinless life and that was Jesus. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
B – Believe
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). Believe that he died as a sacrifice for your sin and rose again on the third day. He is the only way to God the Father- (John 14:6). Salvation is a free gift from God and we have done nothing to deserve it. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John3:16). By believing on Jesus Christ and accepting his gift of salvation we can live victoriously over sin and live eternally in Heaven.
C – Confess
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to others. After you have received Jesus Christ into your life, share your decision with another person. Tell your pastor or a Christian friend about your decision. Following Christ’s example, ask for baptism by immersion in your local church as a public expression of your faith. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (Rom. 10:9-10).
What Now?
Continue to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ. Get involved in a Bible believing church, get water baptized (Matthew 3:13-17) and seek the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 19:2-7). Walk with Jesus Christ daily by reading the Bible and praying.
