Suggested reading – Jeremiah 1:1-19
Just like Jeremiah, you are also full of divine potential to serve God. You are called with a purpose. Each of us are blessed with a gift that God has given us. By utilizing our gifts we can fulfill His purpose in our lives. Sometimes we can just get so overwhelmed…so bogged down with life that it’s hard to even see a purpose. We often become so consumed with ourselves that we forget that we are called to serve. Romans 12:1 says “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sister, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship”.
Do you know what your God given gifts are? Do you find yourself feeling like there is no purpose in your life? We may tend to be critical of ourselves or keep company with people who may tear us down instead of encouraging us. Sometimes we may find ourselves even envying the gifts of others. It is important for us to remember what Paul tells us in Romans 12:6-8 “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.” Maybe you are a born leader or an encourager. Do you have a servants heart or are you a generous giver? If you don’t know what your gifts are then spend some time fasting and seeking God so that you can maximize your potential for His glory.
Live your life today with purpose. No matter how crazy or incredibly hard your situation may seem, realize that there is a purpose. God sees the top to the puzzle box where sometimes we can only see the pieces. It doesn’t always make sense to us but it always makes sense to Him. Be blessed and be a blessing!
